International Day of Rural Women: October 15
The International Day of Rural Women is observed on October 15 each year since 2008. The global observance recognizes rural women’s importance in enhancing agricultural and rural development worldwide. Rural women, the majority of whom depend on natural resources and agriculture for their livelihoods, make up over a quarter of the total world population and play a critical role in enhancing agricultural and rural development, improving food security and eradicating rural poverty.
IFA has supported farm families, and amazing, strong rural women in the Intermountain West since 1923.
